Julija Hartig has spent many decades as a violinist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the ROCtet and Ludwig. Only now, in her early fifties, does she make her debut with the solo album Dark Velvet. A late bloomer as Best Newcomer. “It's never too late,” Hartig responded to Van den Enk's comment that this album came right on time. This debut certainly leaves her wanting more.

Julija Hartig heeft er al vele decennia opzitten als violist in het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, het ROCtet en Ludwig. Pas nu, begin vijftig, maakt ze haar debuut met het soloalbum Dark Velvet. Een laatbloeier als Beste Nieuwkomer dus. “Het is nooit te laat”, antwoordde Hartig op de opmerking van Van den Enk dat dit album precies op tijd kwam. Dit debuut smaakt voor haar dan ook zeker naar meer.
